The hybrid workplace offers a variety of advantages. Employers can benefit from cost savings, improved morale and productivity, and improved access to talent. This is something that employees have known for years, and business leaders are opening up to it. Additionally, the hybrid workplace allows employers to support employee well-being better, as remote workers are less likely to suffer from stress or burnout. And we can all use less burnout!

The training models for a hybrid workplace will vary depending on the type of employee. For remote employees, employers should offer online training modules that can be completed in their own time. This type of training will allow employees to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule. Additionally, employers can provide online resources such as webinars and tutorials that can be accessed when needed. While Zoom is a great tool, thought must be placed into meeting structure and focus on inclusivity. Too many times, it’s difficult for remote employees to feel included when the majority are located in a physical meeting room.

On-site employees, on the other hand, generally need more hands-on training and social contact. Employers should provide interactive workshops and seminars that can be conducted in person. These workshops and seminars should focus on the topics that are relevant to the specific job role and provide practical advice on how to succeed in the hybrid workplace. Furthermore, employers should also provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions for on-site employees.

When you have employees who fall into the hybrid-workplace model, a mixture of these will training types is necessary. For example, remember in-person training can get very loud and discussions are challenges for those who are dialed in or video-conferencing a meeting.
